The National Pilots license opens up a new world to the recreational pilot!.

It consists of a 35 hour training course which includes six theoretical knowledge examinations.

This license will allow the recreational pilot the same privileges as a Private with the exception that he/she will be allowed to fly any one of the new Light Sport Aircraft that are taking the South African Aviation Industry by storm.These aircraft all resemble a conventional aeroplane with the exception that they are all either constructed out of composite materials and/or light aluminium alloy and are classed as all being below 600 kgs maximum all up mass. They operate utilising standard motor vehicle petrol or av-gas making the operating cost of the aircraft substantially less than a conventional aircraft.

The training course is very similar in nature to the Private Pilots License. It consists of 20 dual hours and 15 solo hours.  Six theoretical knowledge examinations are to be written for which we provide all the ground school lectures and the online examinations can be written at our facilities.
