National Pilots Licence

Avstar Aviation now boasts as being one of the very few Commercial flight schools to offer the new National Pilots License.

This course  appeals to the recreational pilot  who can now fly as often as they  like, at a very affordable cost. The South African Aviation Industry has now bridged the gap between the commercial sector and the recreational flyer, offering a whole host of new light aircraft built of anything from composite materials to aluminium alloy and dacron "chute" material. All these aircraft can either run off standard aviation gasoline or motor vehicle petrol, making them an affordable alternative to the standard conventional aircraft.

Avstar uses  the Polaris Light Sport Aircraft. This aircraft has more than the capabilities to test the "hand and footwork' of even the most experienced of pilot's and make great initial trainers.

If the recreational pilot after obtaining the NPL, seeks to further his career in aviation, all 35 hours that the course has to offer automatically qualify towards the total of 45 hours required to obtain his/her Private Pilots License!
