SYNOPSIS OF THE AVSTAR GROUP BACKGROUND The AVSTAR GROUP has a number of strategic subsidiaries. Some are wholly owned companies, while others comprise companies in which Avstar holds share equity of varying degrees. The group comprises individuals from differing industry backgrounds and we do all things possible to broaden our business interests. Our Aircraft Leasing division has enabled us to take equity position in other businesses. Our relationships have allowed us to identify soundly managed and sustainable businesses. Our equity stakes broaden our base and expose us to other niches within Aviation, Property and Mining sectors. Core Business Avstar Aviation comprises five branches: 1. Aircraft Leasing (ACMI Operations); 2. Aircraft Charter; 3. Flight School (in Kwazulu-Natal) and Dispatchers' & Crew Training (Gauteng-based); 4. Aircraft Maintenance and Technical Support. Fundamental to the success of a large-aircraft operation is the ability  to provide operational and technical support. We offer Boeing 737-200s for Charter and Airline Support operations.   We have an equity interest in 1Time Holdings which wholly owns 1Time Airlines and Aeronexus Technical, being a fully certified Part 121, approved aircraft Maintenance organization. We are the biggest single shareholder in this listed entity.     Aircraft Operations and Leasing We are able to and do provide clients with a “complete aviation solution”: We provide a turn-key product. We provide the aircraft, we crew it, we maintain it and we insure it. We provide the full operational support. Our Flight Operations Centre is based in Johannesburg, adjacent to O.R. Tambo International Airport. It is staffed by highly skilled and experienced Flight Operations staff. Our expertise includes full flight management, flight receiving and flight dispatch and full operational co-ordination. We have a large component of permanently employed air crew as well as a large pool of contract air crew which we make use of subject to contractual requirements. We offer Flight Dispatch & Planning support for your own crew and aircraft. Our ATO (Aircraft Training Organisation) and by consequence are able to ensure on-going flight and safety training by our own qualified instructors. Both cabin crew and cockpit crew adhere to the highest standards of competency and training, complying with all Civil Aviation requirements locally and internationally. This ATO service is based in Johannesburg. We also have a fully fledged Flight School based in KwaZulu Natal which conducts training from ab initio, right to Commercial and Airline Pilot training. We have a Executive Air Charter operation based in Durban at Virginia Airport (FAVG) with full dispatch capabilities. We do private charter principally for corporate and government organizations. Avstar has prepared itself to be IOSA compliant and ensures it maintains these high standards. Avstar has extensive operational experience in the Aviation environment having provided lift for both freight and passenger operations over the last 7 years throughout Africa and the Middle East. Our missions have included air support for the AU (African Union) Forces, troop, vehicle and equipment movements of AU troops from the SANDF for the 2006 General Elections in the Indian Ocean islands of the Comoros. We have provided air support for troop rotations into Southern Sudan, Juba on various occasions since 2007, from Bloemfontein via Johannesburg, Entebbe into Juba. We have provided air lift based in Kabul, Afghanistan for a US State Department where we did personnel movements, troop rotations, and medivac support. This was in 2004 in the height of tensions in Kabul. Our operation is uniquely suited to operate in the African and Middle Eastern environments Our crews understand the complexities of the various political regions and are equipped to provide the operational support. Our 24 hour Operation Centre is accustomed to working in pressured environments under strict deadlines. We maintain safety standards in accordance with all internationally accepted and recognized regulations.
